ASUS P5Q-VM ACPI

I have an ASUS P5Q-VM Main Board, and when I load module: asus_acpi or acpi-laptop, it write:
- modprobe asus_acpi
FATAL: Error inserting asus_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.29-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus_acpi.ko): No such device - modprobe asus-laptop
FATAL: Error inserting asus_laptop (/lib/modules/2.6.29-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus-laptop.ko): No such device
kernel version: 2.6.29-gentoo-r5

asus_laptop and asus_acpi are only for asus laptops ;)

Can eat possibility to adapt the given driver on support desktop?
It is very necessary to know a system condition as a whole.

asus_laptop features only exists on laptops: backlight, wireless rfkill, leds, etc ...
What kind of features are you lacking with the current kernel ? hardware monitoring (fan/temp) ?
