Description
For a while now some source code has been available on https://github.com/awilliam/asus-switcheroo . The module allows some Asus notebooks (including the UL50V models) to switch between the different graphics cards. I have talked to the maintainer (Alex Williamson), but he does not feel it would be right to push this code as a separate module.
I personally feel merging this work (which relies mostly on ACPI) with asus-laptop would make it easier to maintain. How would you feel about this proposal?

Hi,
I don't think this should be integrated to asus-laptop.
asus-laptop is just one of the multiple platform drivers for Asus. There is also asus-nb-wmi, eeepc-wmi, eeepc-laptop. Each one of these drivers handle a specific ACPI or WMI device, and from what I've read in asus-switcheroo, there is absolutly nothing related to asus-laptop or asus-wmi.
So this should really merged as a new driver, either in drivers/platform/x86/ (preferred) or drivers/gpu/vga/. I can help with the upstreaming process if needed :).
